eczema???

we noticed this rash looking thing on leia's underarm yesterday and i just thought she had some kind of rash...but, we've done some research & it looks like a little spot of eczema. i didn't think so at first, because NO ONE in either of our families (blood relatives) has it and i thought it was hereditary??? anyways, i thought i should immediately take her to the doctor for this, but if it is eczema there are a few over-the-counter things you can do & it didn't seem like something you need to rush to the hospital for. i'll still probably take her in just to be sure...but, in the meantime, does anybody's child have eczema and if so, does it look like this?

Sohaila has terrible eczema. Has her whole life. It has been on the back of her legs but the worst is on her arms. It looks like she has poka dot skin. When the rash is not flared up the skin where it was at one time is white. It wont tan so it looks so different. All I can say is lotion, lotion, lotion. Non scented, I love Aveno because it is all natural. There are other products out there that use mineral oil in the ingredients which works but does not fix the problem. I hope you get some answers

I have a friend whose daughter has it too. She tested her for food allergies. after a couple years of elimanating certian foods, she's all better. My friend is a-la-natural. No meds... worked for her daughter. I'll send this to her and see what she says...

We all unfortunately struggle with eczema. Melania's turned into impetigo a few weeks ago, I don't kow if you read about it on Brian's blog. Anyway, Cerave is a great bath cleanser, (you can only get at Walgreens), no scented bubble bath or bath gel, or lotion. I also use Eucerin lotion or Aquaphor when it's flared up. It's all about keeping moisturized. After swimming, rinse off the chlorine too. hope that helps!
