last time for a while...i promise!

i'm sorry to all of you non-family people who read my blog...you're probably really tired of seeing pics of us at disneyland. well, this will be the last of the d-land blog entries for a while cuz our annual passes expire next week and we're gonna take a little break before we renew them.
here's our traditional tourist-y style family picture we usually try to take each time we go...
leia's really into mickey mouse now (or "mou mou" as she calls him) :)
leia just being "leia" in line for the tea cups...
here she realizes that she wants to get in a tea cup now...almost 2 year-olds don't like to wait their turn (in case you didn't already know that)!
they got the hang of this ride really quick (leia's 1st time on it, i think)...
hold on tight, baby...
big sisters come in handy on the tea cups!
just their size!!!
we'll miss you mickey...hopefully we'll be back in a few months!

a little ahead of schedule...

...leia getting a big girl bed, that is. we weren't planning on getting her a bed until she turned 2 (a little over 2 months away), but Wickes had a really good discount on matresses, so, we got one tonight. we'll see what happens when we attempt having leia sleep in her new bed. as we were looking at the matresses, derek says, "when i think of leia in a bed, i think of a lot of sleepless nights". yeah, i don't know if she's actually gonna stay in bed at first, we might have to wait until she falls asleep and then transfer her into it. once she gets used to waking up in her bed in the same room with kaia, i think she'll start to like it (if she doesn't at first). we aren't dummies though...her crib is still set up just incase she really doesn't go for this right away. wish us luck!!! :)

3 1/2 hours of fun!

my friend, heather, and i (and the kids, of course) met up at this place called Child's Play today. it is an indoor place for kids to play with a bunch of safe kid toys, slides, tri-cycle merry-go-round kinda thing...etc. for them to play in. it was so nice that we could actually have a conversation and not feel like we had to watch every move the kids made because everything was padded in all the right places...anything that could have hurt 'em was taken care of. thanks for telling us about this place heather, we had a lot of fun! :)

Easter day family pics...

Our Easter...

We had a good Easter...the girls got to decorate eggs yesterday with papa & nema and last night when we were telling kaia how she needs to go to sleep so the easter bunny can come (BTW...we don't make a huge deal about the easter bunny, we just tell the girls that the bunny, eggs, easter baskets...etc. are just for fun, we tried to explain what Easter is really about and even though i know that they don't totally get it, i asked kaia what Easter is about today on the way to church and she said, "God"...so, she does understand the most important part). anyways, after i told her that the easter bunny's gonna bring her easter basket, she says, "is he gonna come in my room & watch me sleep?" and i told her that he's just gonna come in long enough to put her easter basket in her room, she says, "i don't want him to see me, he can just leave it in the hallway". so, kaia wrote him a note telling him to leave her easter basket in the hallway. she's a character. then, this morning when the girls saw their baskets, kaia saw that she had a set of hannah montana panties and she says. "how did the easter bunny know that i like these!" (with a very surprised look on her face)...it was priceless! leia didn't really care about much in her basket except for her bubbles (the spill-proof kind...they're great!) everyone was happy! :)

with 10 days to spare...

better late than never (well, i guess that technically we weren't late...but almost. we have san diego zoo/wild animal park year passes and we are HORRIBLE about using them. when it comes to our disneyland passes, we use them a lot, but these, we've never used more than twice and they expire the end of march. the good thing about these is that they're pretty cheap, so if you go twice you've gotten your money's worth. i'm glad that we checked the expiration date last week (i actually thought that they had already expired), because it was a beautiful day and a lot of fun!

awwwww!!!
leia LOVED being on daddy's shoulders and holding on to her "handles" (derek's poor ears) :)
kaia said, "that bear has a BIG bone"...he sure did!

this was leia's first time on the arial tram and she loved it! she kept saying, "UP HIGH!!!" and throwing up her little arms. i think she's gonna be our little dare devil. she has NO fear!

Kaia's Easter parade

here are a few pics from kaia's pre-school Easter parade. yesterday they had an easter egg hunt and when i picked her up from school i asked her if she had fun and she said..."yea, it was fun and the easter bunny hid the eggs really well!!!" she's so funny.

not so much...

so...did the curlers work on leia? not at all! when she woke up, she only had 3 rollers in her hair still and the rest were laying all over her crib. if her whole head looked like the few curls that actually worked, it would have been adorable. i tried to fix it by using a curling iron on the parts that weren't curled, but by the time we got to the Picture People, ner hair was straighter than before we started. oh well...i guess we'll have to wait a few more months until her hair gets longer. at least kaia's hair had some nice curls. :)

derek said that her hair looked like that picture of Nick Nolte's mug shot...thanks a lot, dad! :)

we'll see what happens...

after we pick kaia up from pre-school tomorrow, i'm taking the girls to get Easter pics taken. the thought of attempting to curl both of their hair in sponge rollers tonight crossed my mind and then i thought, "leia will NEVER go for that!" well, i'm glad that i tried it, cuz as soon as leia saw that kaia had rollers in her hair too, she was sold on the idea. in fact, everytime she accidentally pulled one out of her hair she said, "uh oh, boke (broke)"...and handed me the roller to put back in her hair. i really doubt that their gonna stay in all night long since her hair's still pretty short, but, i guess we'll see tomorrow. hopefully i'll have "after" pics to post tomorrow.

they love their baby cousin!

i can tell you one thing...baby caleb is NOT bored when he's around us. kaia and leia sure do keep him company, they're gonna teach him everything they know (sorry, kim and john) :) j/k. on the way over to visit them the other day, kaia says, "mama, i want a brother". derek and i look at eachother with that "fear/well maybe someday?/i've heard having 3 kids is a handful/hint of excitement/crazy/...not yet" look on our faces. uh oh. when and if that ever happens we'll sure have a lot of help!

oh how they love him...

yes...the infamous trip to see the Easter bunny. as you can see, neither of the girls liked him much. (sorry the pic is blurry, but you still get the idea). the things we put our kids through.

who done it?

tonight our friend's, the pollards, had a murder mystery party at their house. it was kinda like a surprise party for kristen's 30th birthday. i have never participated in a murder mystery party and i never been good at the game "Clue", so, we didn't really know what to expect. it was a lot of fun & there were a lot of good laughs. for example, i've never called someone a "backstabbing fluzzy" after knowing them for only 5 minutes...usually i'd have to know someone for at least 20 minutes before i'd say something like that (j/k). it was fun getting into character...some did better than others when it came to that. a couple of the girls were so good, you'd think you were watching a soap opera. happy birthday kristen!
p.s.~you thought i was kidding when i said i'd have this up by mid-night (i thought i was kidding too) :)

i tried this look-a-like thing & i couldn't believe that it thought kaia looked a little more like me than derek and that leia was exactly in the middle. everyone usuallu thinks that kaia looks more like derek & leia more like me.
