winter wonderland!

today we went up the mountain to Oak Glen to Riley's Farm and it was COLD! i'm talkin' like almost freezing (literally)...i love a change in seasons, and it felt so wintery...you could even see your breath. so, here's our day...
first we ate lunch at the restaurant there...it was so colonial feeling, the people that worked there were dressed old fashioned and some even spoke with irish (i think?) accents...it was kinda funny. :)
then, good 'ol santa came around to all the tables & you can see how much caleb loved him...ha, ha.
kaia & her nema...
as we walked out of the restaurant to start our next activity, leia saw santa again & wanted to tell him what she wanted for Christmas. she said she wanted a dog, so he said (jokingly) that she could have this one. he was so cute!

yeah...this isn't the greatest pic of leia...but, i just loved the tree in the background...
i think kaia was the only one with warm hands...smart girl bringing your mittens!
every direction you looked, all you could see was beautiful green mountains and colorful trees...
the mountains reminded me of when we lived in San Luis Obispo. :(
then, some of us went outside to make wreaths while the girls stayed inside by the big fireplace & decorated gingerbread man cookies (i had enough "cookie making" yesterday :)
good job girls!
so, here's me making my wreath...the man who worked there told me that he didn't advise making a wreath as big as i was, but i insisted. i shoulda listened to him, because we were out there making this thing for about 2 hours...yeah, my hands were totally frozen!
thanks uncle john for helping it actually look like a wreath and not a round stick! :)
ta da...it was worth the time. not bad.
you girls are expert cookie decorators!
we came home & hung up our new wreath...now, wouldn't it look a little silly if it was too small on this big door?
we had a great day...thanks auntie kimmy for the idea of making the trip up there, we should make this a new tradition!
