oh...what fun!

yes...i'm gonna sound like "scrooge", but if you thought you detected a tad bit of sarcasm in the title of this blog post, you were correct! sorry, but today was not the day to make Christmas cookies with a 2 1/2 & a 5 year old...my patience was just not the best it could have been. but, anyhow...we did it...about 4 hours later, we finally have about 30 tasty cookies. yes, only 30! ;(
trying to give a 2 1/2 year old multiple instructions just doesn't work for very long...
first of all, the dough wasn't cooperating...it was SO sticky and wouldn't harden up...
leia's turn to give it a try...
sooooo, trying to use the cookie cutters (the part that shoulda' been the funnest part), didn't work so well...
they tried their best!
so, as you can see...we gave up and just made what we like to call "snowball shaped" cookies :)
fast forward about another hour and...wha la...they're all ready for the sprinkles...
2 seconds after i took this, almost the entire bottle of sprinkles went everywhere!
good job baby...
if you look closely, you can see that we only have three actual cookie cutter shaped cookies...a star, a Christmas tree & a gingerbread man...
oh well, at least they tasted pretty good...next year we'll try again (with a different recipe)!
and i learned a helpful tip for myself, always have a glass of wine handy when you're gonna be in the kitchen with kids for hours! :) just kiddin' (kinda).

Fabulous. I think you are a great mom...even for trying something like this. If it were me, I would probably make "grandma" do it. Shame.

You are a brave woman... I tried it with Kadence last week and spent most of my time saying, "No baby, keep the spoon IN the bowl." Ha. Fun.

I keep meaning to tell you that if you keep adding more flour it gets drier... I just used the sugar cookie mix in a bag and made it the same on the bag and then kept adding flour to reach the proper consistency. :)
