or, "puppy tate"...as leia calls it. for every birthday i try my best to make a cake that has to do with the girls favorite thing at the time. when kaia turned 2, she was really into Jojo's Circus, so i made her a Jojo cake. well, without a doubt, leia's favorite thing are doggies, so that was my goal this year...to find a cute, do-able, homemade puppy cake pattern on-line. well, i found one o thought i could do a few weeks ago, so i asked leia if she wants a puppy cake for her birthday and ever since then, every time anyone asks her wants she wants for her birthday she says "puppy tate (cake)!!!!!!" seriously, as long as she got this cake, she wouldn't care about anything else. so, today we attempted it and i'd say it was a success! my dad, "texas papa" is in town, so he volunteered to make his "7 minute frosting" (yeah right, try 45 minute frosting) and it was perfect for this cake!
thanks texas papa...he literally was sweating by the time it thickened up to the right consistency. he's a good papa!
here's leia watching patiently as the cake began to take shape (you can see my puppy cake example on the computer :)
yes...we had a kitchen full of helpers!
and taste-testers! :)
i'd say they approved of it...
it got quiet real quick until they were busy licking these...no complaints here
drum roll please........................ the finished product...
just incase he gets lost, this puppy cake belongs to L.P.
i'm so happy it actually looks like a puppy...i told derek that i'd make 20 cakes if i had to until it looked like a puppy, since this is all the really wanted. it's nice that it worked the first try!
she was happy with it & that's all that matters. my sweet baby.

omigosh that is so cute. my li'l Gigi LOVES doggies - not sure if that's only because it's one of the few words she can say & associate with the proper thing. :)
