family night #13: 'O Christmas Tree...

tonight was very simple, yet peaceful...no tears, no yelling (well, not much), less threatening than usual & i know what you're thinking, "chipotle for a family night?", but it just seems like we've been so busy lately & we had errands to run tonight so we just ate out...we heard no complaints by anyone :).
then, we thought we'd take a pic of the girls out in front of the BIG Christmas tree by Chipotle (you'll see in a few pics that christmas tree's had to do with our theme for the night)...
when we got home we put a fire in the fireplace for the first time in this house...it actually feels kinda like winter here today...rain. i love it!
another 'sis pic...
then, for the craft...we helped the girls make these christmas tree/hand print/wall hanging "thingys"...they came out adorable (thanks for the idea Jen :)!
kaia's turn...
ta da...the final product (these were so easy & fun/cheap to make and we'll have them forever)
we're getting in the Christmas spirit...how about you guys?

So cute! I am going to have to steal that idea! You are so crafty.
I got the CUTEST pic of Leia at the party, and ordered a print for you. It is so freaking cute! I could eat those girls up!

Those are sooo cute. I'm going to use the idea in my classroom. Where did you get the red hangy part?

hi heather~i just went to jo-ann's & got some remnant fabric...i went with some fleece (i think) because i could cut it and not have to hem it...i just had to sew the piece at the top for the wooden dowel to slide into (i've also seen it made using a small towel for the fabric & a plastic pants hanger (like the kind that come with clothes with the 2 clip thingys & you'd just clip them on the top so you wouldn't have to sew anything). hope you & your classroom kids have fun! :)

Very cute idea, I love it! And no matter the occasion, family night or not, you can NEVER go wrong eating at Chipotle! Happy (post) Thanksgiving :)
