our friend's, b-dogg (bryan) and judy just had their 2nd daughter, jillian, last week on March 25th. when judy was about 5 months pregnant they found out that the baby had a rare condition called Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH), which occurs in 1 out of every 2,500 pregnancies. which basically means that her diaphragm had a hole in it that had allowed her stomach to pass into the upper regions of her chest cavity, which caused her heart to be pushed to the opposite side of her chest. Her chest was too overcrowded to allow her lungs to fully develop.
fast forward to now...baby jill is almost 1 week old and she is an amazingly strong little girl. they didn't even know if she would survive the birth and if she did, they were gonna have to wait until she was stable enough to operate on her. not only did she get past both of those possible obstacles, but the doctor said that he hasn’t seen a baby with such limited lung development do as well as she has.
fast forward again, jillian had her surgery late last night and the surgery was successful! they still have a long road ahead of them, but we know that God is watching over her and that she is safe in His hands. please check out their story and please pray that her lungs finish developing properly and that she remains infection-free and that she gets to go home soon (and for their little family...including big sis, katelyn).
thank you.
thank you.
