we went down to san diego today with derek so he could finish up a song he's recording at a friend's studio. here's what they came up with - a pre-mix version of "sweeter than this" So the girls and i decided to go down with him and kill time while he was recording. we went to the beach and to fashion valley mall (one of my favorite malls, cuz it's outdoors) & the time went by really fast. anyways, here are a few pics from the beach... we forgot the sand toys, but the girls still had a lot of fun, the weather was extra beautiful! leia was very entertained by the sand too... kaia looks so grown up here! kaia gets a lot of credit for leia walking :) here's what leia's face looked like after she ate, yet, some more sand...ewww. this pic was taken by a kinda wacky surfer dude that walked up to us and insisted on taking our picture... this never gets old ;) i really we wish we lived on the beach...mabye some day!

i'm glad that surfer dude didn't make you take off your shoes and stand in the ocean while he ran off with your camera, a-la national lampoon's european vacation.
i know simon...we were right by your house. the girls and i decided to go with derek at the last minute and didn't know what we were gonna do until we got there. i was gonna call you guys after the mall, but derek and mark were done earlier than expected. sorry we missed you guys. oh, and that exact same thought ran through my head as i was handing him my camera (well, mabye not the shoes part of it, but i was thinking "please don't steal my camera cuz i can't do much about it right now") :).
