constant nesting...

i thought nesting was something that happened toward the end of pregnancy, but i'm not even 7 months yet & i've been in the purging/organizing mood for weeks now. i'm not kidding, so far i've gone through the house and been getting SO much done that i'm starting to run out of things to clean. it's felt so good to finally get thigs done that have been on my "to do" list since we moved in to this house (almost a year ago). here's my list of things i've gotten done:
1.~cleaned out the inside of mine and derek's cars.
2.~cleaned out the girls room (getting rid of toys that had missing parts/broken, etc.)
3.~REALLY cleaned out my closet/dresser & motivated (nagged) derek to clean out his too.
4.~cleaned out the kitchen junk basket that's been overflowing with mostly "junk".
5.~taken down curtains that i didn't like (that came with the house when we moved in)...in hopes of getting shutters sometime soon...if we're able to buy this house if the bank will approve the short sale(we're renting right now...that's a whole other long story) .
6.~got caught up on my scrapbooks/picture developing/putting pics in albums.
7.~put the girls crafts/artwork from the year organized and put away the ones we wanted to keep in a "craft keepsake box".
8.~cleaned out the fridge/pantry.
9.~cleaned the dust out of the air conditioning vents and replaced the air filters (actually, i have to give derek credit...he replaced the filters).
10.~organized/cleaned the backyard patio & got rid of broken/old/never played with stuff.
...i know there's more, but i can't think of what else there is right now.
i wonder how i'll be at 9 months pregnant if i'm in such a mood to clean now...maybe it's just happening earlier! it sounds weird, but i'm kinda sad that everything's so organized because i'm running out of things to do! :)

escaping the heat!

well, i asked for the heat and it sure came! it was 101* on sunday, so we had to get out of here. it crazy that driving 45 minutes can make such a difference, i think it was 80* at the beach. and our "usually mellow, not-packed" beach was SO crowded...not what we had in mind, but it was still fun for the girls. anyways, here are a few pics from the day...

i'm starting to lose count of these "comment's of the day" posts, but i think we're on #19...
anyways, leia's really into putting her hand on my tummy to feel the baby kick & when she feels a kick, her eyes brighten up and get huge and her mouth flies wide open....it makes her so happy! the last few days when the baby kicks her hand, she's been saying, "mama, the baby likes playing patty cake with me!"
oh, the things the girls come up with... it never gets old! :)

26 weeks and 2 days pic...

now that it's finally heating up and feeling like summer... we went over to papa & nema's house to swim today. i have NOT been a fan of the camera much lately... but i don't want to regret not taking pics later, so here's the latest belly pic. i can't believe that we're only like 3 months away, the time has flown by! we'll see how fast these next few HOT months go! :)

i've missed her.

one of my best friends, kellie, and her boys are in town from hawaii, for a few weeks. it's been almost exactly 1 year since we've seen each other. not only did we get to see each other last night, but we got to go out kid-free. it was great but kinda weird not having kids with us. we were saying how we're so used to being interrupted, i don't think we've hung out alone since having kids...over 5 years ago! whew, our date was WAY past due! we went shopping (well, window shopping) and to a sushi place in san diego for dinner. it was a really fun sushi restaurant, but SO loud...we had to yell at each other to have a conversation. it was kinda funny. :) every time they sang happy birthday to someone, they turned off all the lights and turned on a strobe light and EVERY ONE who worked there YELLED the song. can't wait to get to hang out again before you go back...the girls are excited...leia and micah need to reconnect so they don't forget each other. ha ha.

24 week pre-natal appt. update...

we had our 24 week appt. today and we got to hear the baby's heartbeat again...she was very active during that so you could hear every move she made too. as far as weight, i've gained 15 pounds so far, which is about how much i weighed with kaia and leia at this time. she also measured my belly (the pubic bone to top of uterus measurement) and, like i did with the kaia & leia, i'm measuring a little small (22 cm.). which isn't anything to worry about since it's consistent as to where i was with the girls too (i guess it's just the way i carry). btw, i can't believe i'm measuring small this time around since i feel SO much bigger this time. anyways...that's the latest prego news.
other news...kaia had her last day of pre-k today! she officially "graduated" into kindergarten for next year and summer can BEGIN! time to start spending a lot of time outside in the pool (if these clouds will ever leave) & we're ready to sleep in a little! :)

she's 3!!!

i really can't believe that my baby's 3 today. it's crazy that she's gonna be a big sister in a little over three months, she still feels like my baby. after disney land tonight, we were at dinner and i just had to stop and look at her as she was eating and started tearing up. a lot of it had to do with my hormones and the fact that it's been a very full day and i'm exhausted but, the time really has just flown by. anyways, before i make myself cry again...here are some pics from today. enjoy!

more partying!

we had leia's birthday party on saturday at this little kids salon in town. the girls got to get their hair done, make-up done & a manicure. it was so cute watching them get all "dolled up". even cousin caleb got a little something done :)...

first of many...

well, this is leia's "birthday month"...her actual birthday is next tuesday, but it seems like our girls always have multiple celebrations. tonight we took them to see the new adorable movie, "Up". it was SO cute! we didn't know how leia was gonna do during the movie since she doesn't sit still very long, but she watched every second of it until her popcorn ran out (yes, we allowed her to have popcorn tonight...it always makes me nervous with kids this young, but she was on my lap and i made sure she ate one piece at a time). she said, "WOW, mama this is a big t.v. (holding her hands far apart)!" anyways, after the popcorn ran out, she was kinda fidgety and then about 1/2 way through, she fell asleep. but, derek and me and kaia really liked it a lot. i can guarantee you i enjoyed it more than Star Trek derek dragged me to a few weeks ago.
then, we went to California Pizza Kitchen since pizza is one of leia's favorite foods. as you'll see from the pics, she was still kinda groggy/cranky when we first got there. poor girl...it's SO hard almost being 3! :)
