We thought we'd take the girls out tonight to get some candy, didn't have much luck, but had fun. It was funny...last week we went to a party at one of the ladies house in the mom's group i'm in & kaia was dressed as a cute little hula girl, but since it was kinda cold tonight we didn't want her to wear that dress again. so, as i went through her closet trying to put a last minute costume together, i grabbed her ski outfit and out the door we went, my original idea was that she could be a cute little "snow bunny". after getting her all dressed, we couldn't decide if she was "stay-puff" (marshmellow guy from ghostbusters), the michelin man, the blueberry girl from willy wonka, a mechanic, or as derek later said, she could have been the earth if we just drew and cut out some continents and taped them on to her. anyways...as you will see, kaia didn't really care what she was dressed as, she had a lot of fun anyways and leia was a cuddly little bear...one thing we know they were was WARM to say the least!
When Derek and I were first dating, I used to tell him, "Don't think I'm weird, but..." (and then I'd say/ask him something probably really weird, but he always seemed to be amused by whatever came next). Anyways, I thought I'd just fill you guys in with a few tid bits of info. about me (whether you wanted to know these or not)...here I go with some quirky, random "Shannon-isms", probably saying too much again...oh well:1. I have a habit (i guess it could be good or bad) of eaves dropping. We'll be out eating or shopping, or anywhere & I'll get so into what someone next to us is saying that I'll tell Derek, "Wait, hold on", until I get all the "scoop".2. I feel really special when I'm shopping & I get the "last one" of something, I feel like it was meant for me to have & get really happy.
3. I HATE cilantro so much & Chipotle is one of my favorite places to eat. Even though everything that I eat there has tons of cilantro in it, I just disect my food as I eat. 
4. Derek and I noticed that I smell almost everything I eat before I eat it, it's not an OCD thing, I just love to smell my food.
5. This one's REALLY weird (okay, I warned you). Whenever I go shopping (not grocery shopping, but for clothes or something fun), I always have a sudden urge to, hmmm, how shall I put this, have a sudden need to RUSH to the bathroom (#2)...I know, even in a public restroom. No, I don't sit, I hover...good thing I joined the gym a couple of months ago & squats are part of my workout. I don't know why this happens...my only guess is that it's an "excitement reaction". I know, I'm weird.
6. One more...when I look at the top of Leia's head (Kaia's too when her hair was shorter), it almost makes me want to cry at times when I see her little "cowlick/swirly-thing, where her hair starts"...I know, that's not the medical name for it. I'm not sure what it's called, but I just love it. I guess I just reminds me that God knows every hair that is on our head...here's a pic:
Okay, that's enough quirkiness for one night. Does anyone else have any weird stuff similar to mine? try to top those!
I know that this is a "family blog", but I'm kinda weird & not very good at not saying what I'm thinking...just to let you all know, don't be surprised if some of my posts are kinda "unique" now and then (hence the title of this entry). ;)
Mabye part of my excuse for my random thoughts is from breastfeeding hormones on top of the fact that i'm exhausted...okay, now that i've warned you all...speaking of breastfeeding, as I was watching Leia as she nursed/slept tonight, I was extra amazed at the fact that boobs just know when the baby's mouth is still attached to it even if they just fell asleep eating & not even trying to eat anymore (sorry about the run-on sentence). For all of you that haven't ever nursed a baby, this probably sounds very weird and mabye boring. Anyways, I just told Derek, "If I was just walking around the house, my boobs wouldn't be squirting milk out every ten minutes, but since Leia is attached to me, they just seem to"know" that she might not be full yet"...amazing.
Okay, i think i'm done talking about boobs (for now). Let's see, i've said the word "boob" or "breast" seven times in this entry, that's enough i think.
Mabye I should get some sleep before I say something else I probably shouldn't have typed.
