It finally feels like Spring!

As we are gradually getting more settled in to our new place, the girls are having more & more fun. we've never had a "real" swingset, at our old house we had a tree swing for kaia...it was awesome. way better than a swingset. now, at our new place there is a kinda strange "structure" in our backyard. at first we thought, "what is that and what are we gonna do with it?" then, we realized that it would be a great place to hang swings up for the girls and a hammock for us (we got one in mazatlan on the cruise). well, the girls swings went up today, but our hammock is still in the bag. they LOVED their swings. leia just started laughing when we put her in & started swinging her and kaia liked her "big girl" swing. oh, and the weather was GREAT today, so it made the day even more fun! i love my girls.

family time

well, the girls wagon that they got for Christmas is finally assembled, so we went on our first walk to the park since we moved a few weeks ago. it was freezing outside, so we walked really fast but the girls loved it. we thought leia was gonna be too young to ride in it, but she did great. i think their favorite thing about it is that it has 2 cup holders, so they each have a spot for their drink or cup of some sort of snack. can't wait to go on another walk...hopefully it will be warmer next time. :)

unpacking and packing

Well, we've pretty much gotten unpacked except for hanging up pictures and stuff on the walls. it was kinda tough, the first couple of days here, leia would not let us put her down at all (she still had the lingering effects of her cold), she didn't feel well, so we gave her a new nickname...kangaroo baby, because she was pretty much attached to me like a baby kangaroo until yesterday. just to let you know, it's really hard to unpack a whole house worth of stuff with one hand! oh, and when we did put her down, she SCREAMED. you know, the kind where you can't think! derek was trying to do some simple math when he was hanging an extra rack in the girls cloest & he was trying to divide 9 by 54, and he had to whip out the cell phone calculator...and he's a REALLY smart guy. it was just the constant screaming that was making our brains mush. so, she's back to her usual self. mabye she also just needed to adjust to the new house.
anyways, as far as the packing part, we're leaving for a cruise sunday. we're going with my dad, my sister and her daughter (almost 4 years old). they're flying in from san antonio saturday. after unpacking, packing is the last thing on my mind & i probably won't actually start until saturday night, i'm a last-minute packer. it takes me a few day ahead of time of writing things down so i don't forget anything. but, anyways, we are SO ready for a vacation. moving SUCKS (sorry mom, i know you don't like that word), but when the movers under quote you by A LOT and you end up paying almost 3 times more than they quoted on the phone, you don't want to move again for a long time. we plan on staying in this house for a long time, and so far we like it here. there's nothing like having a garage, backyard, a 3rd room and a JUNK DRAWER (for the first time)...i know, i'm easily amused!
